Publication Ethics

JPS is committed to upholding the highest standards of publication ethics. All parties involved in the publishing process are expected to adhere to these ethical principles.

Duties of Editors

• Fair play - evaluate manuscripts based on intellectual content
• Confidentiality - protect submitted manuscripts
• Disclosure and conflicts of interest

Duties of Reviewers

• Contribution to editorial decisions
• Promptness and professionalism
• Confidentiality and objectivity

Duties of Authors

• Originality and plagiarism prevention
• No multiple or concurrent publications
• Proper acknowledgment of sources
• Authorship based on significant contribution

Open Access Policy

JPS provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge.

All articles published in JPS are licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0).

Peer Review Policy

JPS operates a double-blind peer review process to ensure the quality and integrity of published research.

Review Process:

1. Initial Screening: Editor checks for scope, formatting (1-3 days)
2. Assignment: Paper is assigned to 2-3 expert reviewers
3. Peer Review: Reviewers evaluate methodology and significance (2-4 weeks)
4. Editor Decision: Final decision based on reviewer reports
5. Revision: Authors revise if requested

Review Criteria:

• Originality and novelty of the research
• Scientific rigor and methodological soundness
• Clarity and quality of presentation
• Significance and contribution to the field

Plagiarism Policy

JPS takes plagiarism very seriously. All submissions are checked using plagiarism detection software before being sent to reviewers.

Plagiarism Threshold:

• Acceptable: Less than 15% similarity (excluding references)
• Borderline: 15-25% similarity - may require revision
• Unacceptable: More than 25% similarity - automatic rejection

Copyright and Licensing

Authors who publish with JPS retain copyright and grant the journal right of first publication. The work is simultaneously licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution License (CC BY 4.0).

Author Rights:

• Retain patent, trademark, and other intellectual property rights
• Reuse portions of their work in future research
• Deposit their article in institutional repositories
• Share their article with colleagues and students

Data Sharing Policy

JPS encourages authors to share the data underlying their research findings. Data sharing promotes transparency, reproducibility, and collaboration.

Recommendations:

• Deposit data in recognized public repositories
• Include a data availability statement in the manuscript
• Cite shared data appropriately
• Provide metadata and documentation

Corrections and Retractions

JPS is committed to maintaining the integrity of the academic record. We will issue corrections, retractions, or expressions of concern when necessary.

Types of Corrections:

• Erratum: Publisher error affecting the scientific record
• Corrigendum: Author error affecting the scientific record
• Retraction: Major error or misconduct requiring removal
• Expression of Concern: Warning about potential issues

JPS is committed to open access publishing without financial barriers for authors or readers.
